I love chocolate mousse! But it’s usually full of sugar and I’m trying to avoid it because I don’t consider it healthy. I was looking for a chocolatey and creamy alternative and I came up with this tasty avocado chocolate mousse. Trust me, it’s delicious!
Ingredients (for two portions):
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tsp of cacao powder
- 100 ml of milk (skimmed, coconut, almond, …)
- juice of 1 lime
- vanilla essence
- stevia (or other zero calories) sweetener
Cut the avocado in half, pit and peel it and put it in a blender. Add cacao powder, about 50 ml of milk (my favorite is almond milk because it’s already a bit sweet and I don’t need to add as much sweetener), half of a lime juice, a few drops of vanilla essence, a bit of sweetener and a pinch of salt. Blend it all together.
Taste it – add more milk if it’s too thick, add more lime juice if it tastes too earthy and not fresh enough and add more sweetener if needed. Blend everything again.
Fill two cups with avocado mousse and place them in the fridge for at least half an hour.
