I don’t like messy food but I will always make an exception for chicken wings because they are so tasty! I like them crispy but still a bit sticky and this oven (or barbecue) baked version is a healthy alternative to frying.
Ingredients:
- 10 chicken wings
- 3 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tsp of sweet paprika
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- salt
- pepper
- optional: add some sweetness with 2 tsp of honey or make them spicier with 1 tsp of dried chili flakes or try adding both
Make a marinade by mixing olive oil, sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt (don’t hold back on the salt too much ;)), pepper and optional ingredients. Halve the wings at the joint, pour the marinade over them and toss them until they are evenly coated. Let them rest in the fridge for at least half an hour or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line a large backing tray with a parchment and spread the wings on it. Bake them for 20 minutes on one side, turn them around and bake for another 20 minutes. Increase the oven to 200 °C and bake the wings for another 10 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.
