Burgers are yummi but unfortunately they do not help us get bikini ready. But how can we still eat tasty food and keep our bodies in shape? “Naked burgers” are a great low carb alternative as they are prepared without bread.
Ingredients for 4 burgers:
- 500 g minced beef
- 8 lettuce leaves
- 4 cheese slices
- 1.5 small onions
Ingredients for burger sauce:
- 20 g low fat mayonnaise
- 20 g low sugar ketchup
- 10 g mustard
- 0.5 small onion
Let’s start with the sauce. This is the less healthy part of our burgers because it’s made from mayo and ketchup but it’s so tasty and we will use low fat and low sugar versions of mayo and ketchup which will make us feel a bit better about our choice.
Put mayo, ketchup and mustard into a small bowl, grate half of an onion on top and mix all of that together. You can season the sauce with some salt and pepper and you are done.
Slice the rest of the onions and save that for later.
Form the minced meat into 4 patties. In a large nonstick pan, heat about a table spoon (10 g) of oil and place the patties in. Put some salt and pepper on them and let them cook for about 4 minutes on one side. Meanwhile you can wash the lettuce. After turning the patties put some seasoning on this side as well and place a slice of cheese on each. Again cook for about 4 minutes.
Take the patties out of the pan and let them rest on a plate for a few minutes. Add a bit of oil to the pan if needed and put your chopped onions in and saute it until it gets tender and a bit golden.
It’s time to form a naked burger! Start with a leaf of lettuce, put some of that yummi sauce on it, continue with a patty, add some of the onions on top and finish off with another peace of lettuce. Enjoy!
